Not Cookies

I doubt that the yearly sales for this place come anywhere close to the cookie sales at a single concession stand at the state fair in Minnesota.  But this stuff sounds pretty good.  Admittedly, I should probably try this before I make a claim that it's better than cookies.

I'll bet those cookies sell for more than 75 cents apiece, too.

It's still June.

JB seemed to enjoy his Father's Day quite a bit this year.  Saturday his Grandchildren arrived, and brought with them a replacement weather station for the one on the deck that had not survived the winter.  It was probably his best Father's Day gift ever.  Totally Jammin' was heading off to Boy's State on Sunday, so he couldn't stay, but we got a photo.

The college girl plans to photo shop her Mother into the photo at some point, or so she says.  OSLO arrived on Sunday to spend the day with her Dad, so we had lots of company.

Yesterday was the solstice already -- and we had a pretty nice sunset here -- this was taken well after 9:30 last night.  Even Charlie thought it was worth a look.  My morning walking group took a bonus evening walk, and were glad we did.

It's good to get out and about now and then, and these two provide occasional motivation to do something different from the routine stuff.  This photo was taken last Friday, I think -- having lunch in Saugatuck.

It's hard to believe that it has been exactly a year since the four of us (Oslo, College Girl, Totally Jammin' and me) were on our way to Wisconsin to spend a week visiting the old family farm and a couple of cemeteries (and the intersection of county roads FF and U) before moving on to a few last days on Swan Lake, building fires and visiting some old haunts on the iron range.  We even spent some time at the cemetery in Coleraine.  On Sunday morning we said good-bye to TT and NCW and headed for the big boat to take us back across the big lake. Only photos and good memories remain.

Not all plans work out the way you expect.

A planned bike ride into town today was thwarted by high water under the bridge between the north side, where I live, and the actual town.

I didn't like any of the alternative methods for getting to the other side, so we turned around and headed back.  We arrived at the bottom of the hill to our neighborhood just as it began to rain.  I guess it all worked out for the best.
