It seems that bicycle blogging has broken out on Mr. MooHoo's blog. (There is a link between actual bicycling and bicycle blogging, though no cause and effect relationship has been proven -- at least, not that I'm aware of.)
I've done some biking every month so far this year. Florida in January, a warm February, a handful of rides in March and a few rides this month. Today's ride was probably the last April ride for me, and I took my camera with me and have a few photos to document the miles. It was a little chilly -- upper 40's near the lake, low to mid 50's inland.
I took the longer way -- via the new bike path on Greenly to 152nd before heading north to Butternut. It adds a couple of miles to the round trip to the PSPS. This tulip tree (above) is nearing the end of it's blooming stage. Still pretty, though.
This is an ornamental crab apple tree, I think. The background is blurry, but if you've been there you probably recognize it. (Does anyone else see an alien hand in this photo?) It was my longest ride so far this year, and the last few (several?) miles felt hard. Given the weather forecast, and some life stuff, it will be Tuesday at the earliest before I do any more biking.

The College Girl turns 22 (soon)
Tonight a Michigan family gathered to celebrate the College Girl's next birthday. She will be 22 on Tuesday -- a school day for her -- so the food and presents and cake were scheduled for this evening. A good time was had by all.
It was mostly her Dad's side of the family, other than me. After all this time, that distinction means very little. There was a cute baby there -- the birthday girl's cousin's little boy. Babies are always a bright spot it seems to me. My daughter forgot to buy the correct numerals to place on the girl's cake, but that didn't matter much, in truth. They wrapped up extra cake for me to take home to Grandpa, and I headed home, making it back to the lake just as the sun was setting. Happy birthday, sweet girl.
