Remembrance of things past.

On this date in 1942 -- 74 years ago -- my brother Jim was born.  Back in January of 2015, I mentioned the 106th birthday of our father on my blog.  Jimi commented, "Facebook helps with friends still alive, but the birthdays of the departed require focus."   Not yet, Jim, not yet.

College Girl and Grandmother

The College Girl had an assignment in her black and white photography class -- take a roll of film's worth of photos of old houses, all from similar perspectives and with similar lighting.  She came into town to take advantage of some late 1800, early 1900 cottages near the state park.  I was her guide, since I've been through that area on my bike a few times.  I took my (digital) camera with me, and took some of the same photos.  Her assignment was to turn in six photos from the roll of 36.  I took 50, not being constrained by film.  Here are seven of my photos.

So that was fun.  We spent some time wandering the neighborhoods on a beautiful fall afternoon in early October.  If that isn't nice, what is?  Here are a couple of photos of the girl going about her photography studies.

One of the nicest days in the history of days.
