Road Ends signs are an old theme of mine. Here are three different streets all ending at different places on Lake Mac, all within a few miles of each other.
Post Avenue
The end of 160th Avenue. Between the seawall and the dock in this picture, you can see how high the water levels are this year.
Chippewa Drive. I know, the lighting in these sucks, but it was a dark and windy day. I did some photo editing on the last two pictures so I could read the signs, making the sky look washed out -- I am still feeling a bit rusty with my camera. I think three Road Ends in one ride is a record.
One last photo. The bike paths were damp but this is one of my favorite stretches.

The Camera Story
Blog posts "always" have photos, sometimes they're the best part. Last night I started looking for my camera, not having used it since early March, I wasn't quite sure where it was. It was in the first place I looked -- a sign that I'm fairly organized, not that my memory is all that good. Of course the battery was dead, and I spent a good 15 minutes looking for the charger, which proves that I'm not as organized as I'd like to think, I guess. Once charged the camera lens wouldn't open, and I remembered that I'd had that problem in Florida and had Googled how to fix it. So I slapped it hard on my leg and it opened up. It was sunset tonight before I got around to using it, and retracing all the steps of loading the photos onto the computer and posting a couple of them here.
I also just learned that Blogger can access the photos on my phone directly, so I don't need to download them, or email them to myself or any of the other tricks I've used to transfer pictures from my phone to my blog. Here's one I took yesterday.
I like benches, they're oddly interesting.

Last Day of Summer
My calendar says there's one more day of summer yet, but with rain and strong winds forecast at about 100% for tomorrow, today was the end here. I like Fall, though -- it just seems to be about the shortest season, giving up way too early. I haven't biked to the State Park for quite a while, it's too crowded in July and August for my taste. I was surprised at how many people were there today, too. Apparently I wasn't the only one who figured out that Summer's over.
The water levels are high, and it was too windy for even some of the big boats out on the big lake.
Steady winds around 18, gusts higher. It was a slog, but I rarely regret a bike ride.
You can see the wind bending the dune grass in this one. There's always something new to see, the county has added a lot of walkways and such near the State Park, providing a lot more access to the waterfront along Lake Mac. And benches, lots of benches.

Do I Even Remember How to Do This?
Inspired by GZ's post, in part. Also, I have always planned to blog in November, as is traditional. I am out of practice -- mostly the photo posting part.
This was taken on Wednesday, half way through a leisurely bike ride along a new stretch of bike path along the Grand River. We rode about a dozen miles, had lunch along the waterfront in Grand Haven and went home. September weather is nice this time of year here, for the most part.
Okay, so I learned a thing or two. Again. Learn, forget, relearn. Wash, rinse, repeat.
