Why am I in Florida yet again? Well, my doctor told me to keep moving… perhaps I am taking her too literally. Also, Hurricane Ian and its aftermath rearranged my schedule this winter. Reason #1 though, is probably my bike. She makes following doctor’s orders a lot easier. So yes, it’s about the bike.

This feels like home — too. Because it is. I left behind 6 to 8 inches of the white fluffy stuff, navigated winter air travel with its de-icing and maintenance issues and was picked up at our little airport by my friends and neighbors last night. It’s good to be here. Also sad to leave behind my northern friends and neighbors. And family. Here’s a bit of my view this morning.

They were NCAA Division III champions last year, with several “super seniors” on the squad. They’re not quite that successful this season but they are still pretty good, and fun to watch. LH and I sat with a former accounting student of ours from our early years of teaching. That was also fun. Hope beat Albion 78 to 49. Entertainment on a snowy January Saturday afternoon.
Friends and neighbors gathered for a meal here last night. I forgot to take a photo while there was still food on the table, but everyone said it was tasty. My beloved granddaughter was also in attendance. She works from home now, so she kept me company here at the beach this week. Thanks, Nikki!!!
It didn’t look like it was going to be a promising sunset when I got the text from my next door neighbor. It simply said “Sunset??” They bring out the comfy chairs so I texted back, “Sure” and here’s the result.
