We’ve been here a week, and it’s gone by quickly. The time line is already beginning to blur. So, on with the show. There’s a lot of good stuff to set down here to help me remember what this experience was like.
Another bike ride, another trail. The Heartland Trail and the Paul Bunyan Trail overlap for a while south of Walker. It’s mostly through woods, quiet and pretty this time of year. The leaves are beginning to turn color.
Rainy, foggy, gray. Terrible jigsaws. I used to think I was good at them. I’m not.
Some things didn’t merit a photo, apparently. Fishing broke out— five nice sized pan fish, mostly bluegill. Breakfast in Remer, shopping at the local thrift shop, coffee in Walker after our 10 mile ride. Lots of food, cooking breaks out regularly. Three good cooks brought recipes. Caprese salads with fresh tomatoes from neighbors gardens. Corn meal pancakes, lasagna, G’s red sauce. Scones, blueberry buckle. And last night hot dogs over the fire pit, watermelon salad, excellent company with old and new friends. The week is winding down.
